"Kia Ora Caryn & Brian,
Mita & I would love to thank you both for your outstanding hospitality during our stay at the Sunrise Motel. We stayed at the Sunrise from 17 November 2011 untill 27 November 2011.
This was our first visit to Raro and certainly will not be our last. Staying in Bungalow
No 1 for 10 days was an awesome experience.
Being so close to the sea and nature was absolutely amazing.
If we required anything at all Caryn & Brian were only too happy to assist. I enjoyed my daily
swims in the pool and the tranquillity, privacy and friendships we have gained.
Mita & I are already planning our next holiday in Raro which would be November 2012, we can’t wait to come back and stay with you both once again.
Thank you for the fond memories, I look at our photo’s everyday which reminds me of the warmth, relaxation and calming feeling we had in Rarotonga.

"We stayed at Sunrise Bungalows late October, Early November 2011 for 8 days. There were 4 of us in the big house. Easily the best feature was the constant sound of the surf breaking on the reef. The beach is rocky and not ideal for swimming but it is a short walk down to Muri which has beautiful swimming spots. Caryn & Brian are lovely hosts and no request was too much bother. I loved the small personal feel of this place. We hired a car and when needed visited the the big resorts to swim, have drinks. The pool at Sunrise is refreshing and clean. The accommodation facilities are very affordable when compared to the resorts and the hosts are great - friendly and considerate. They will tell you all you need to know about where to go on the island to make the most of your stay."

"Several years ago I was on the net and decided to go to Rarotonga. Found this place that looked very interesting
looked like everything that we wanted and we where not dissapointed when arriving to see what we had booked.
We had our own little place beleive it to be #4 right on the water front, knew there was no swimming in ocean.
We enjoyed the serenity of it listening to ocean at night or sitting on porch enjoying a coffee, sorting shells etc.
We where never bothered by any staff if you needed something it was always got or done just ask. The management
where more then happy to accommedate you no matter what. The pets where always welcome in our place.
Our place was very clean even with some food supplied on arrival after being picked up at airport.
We have gone back to Sunrise for a few years and missed it when we could not travel. one had open heart surgery
couldnt travel.then I broke my neck and could not travel but we are looking forward to seeing the friendly management
whom I have kept in touch with.
This is not a 5 star so if you expect room service etc go elsewhere and pay big bucks.
These bungalows are clean self contained (not everyones holiday) but we just love it there and cant wait to return for a
month or so shortly, I could not find a place that we enjoy as much as with Caryn and Brian.

THE BEST PLACE AND HOLIDAY WE HAVE EVER HAD and we travel a lot. Sunrise Beach Bungalows only way to go."

"Hi, We stayed at the Sunrise beach Bungalows in Sept.2011, We were picked up from the airport, and dropped back after our 7 day stay. Brian and Caryn were perfect hosts, there when you needed any assistance, but allowed us our privacy. The bungalows were the dream holiday. The site was like out of a movie, and in my mind i can still hear the surf breaking calming and relaxing you. Had a great stay and are planing a return visit soon"

"I had a very nice stay at Sunrise Beach Bungalows October 2009. Caryn picked me up at the airport. I had a beach front bungalow from where I could enjoy the the ocean. Caryn even took me for a ride to show me the nearby beaches and restaurants. The first morning I was provided with a good breakfast. Watever I needed was taken care of. Caryn even let some other guests and me use her car, so we could go out for dinner and in another occation to go to a show. The bungalow was clean and neat and had all you needed. At the end of my stay I was allowed to stay in my room until Caryn brought me to the airport for my late flight.
Staying at Sunrise was very pleasant and I hope to come back at some point.

"Sunrise Beach Bungalows is one of the awesomest places that I have had the privilege to stay in during my travels. I stayed there for just under two weeks and then returned 3 months later for two nights. What I find amazing is the feeling of a second home that you experience. The people are extremely nice and generous. Personally I loved the comfortable environment they create. The rooms are always clean, even when you had a mud bath right beforehand and walked in with your clothes dripping, turn around, look back and its spotless. They also seem to think of everything, including coffee for the mornings. I would recommend Sunrise to anyone travelling towards Rarotonga who want to get out and see the island or just stay home and watch movies. It is extremely affordable as well. Extremely happy with the Sunrise Family =) "

"I was fortunate to be introduced to this slice of paradise in 2010 and spent 10days with a friend here in the large house. Wow! The place the owners couldn't have asked for more. I enjoyed the hospitality and the slightly quieter tranquility of not being in a full on Resort, surrounded by loads of other tourists. I returned with one of my daughters for a weekend in May 2011 this time in a beach side bungalow, that was just as awesome, sound of the ocean, private place to sunbathe, nice swimming pool, own kitchen, topped off with Caryn's vast knowledge of the things to do on the Island and her warm nature. As hosts Brian and Caryn are fantastic. My eldest daughter and partner look forward to this New Years at Sunrise. Lucky them! I wondered whether to share my secret slice of paradise as it may get too busy, but hard not to recommend somewhere so special. Look Forward to seeing you both, soaking up the sun and enjoying time in your paradise again in 2012. Thank you for all the fond memories."

"Hi Caryn, you may not remember us but we were playing on the Internet and came for a visit to your place. Just thought we would tell you we still often think of the great holidays we had and wish we could come back soon. Hope you are well and the biz. Is good. All the best"

"We have arrived back from an 8 day stay. What an awesum place.I had read these reviews and thought immmm maybe not the greatest place to stay but we had to make our minds up for ourselves (as kiwi's do) We had a beach front unit. (Beach albeit rocky) it was so cool to have the sea right outside your bedroom. The guests Brian & Caryn were awesum and so was the on site house keeper Aroha. She couldnt do enough for us. The units are private and have all you need. Shower, kitchen fully equipped to stay in & cook, queen bed etc etc.
We would definitely return to Sunrise as you cannot beat value for money. If you want value for money then this is the place for you. You are a short walk to Muri Lagoon where we swam and Sunrise is close to a dairy, takeaways and restaurant (Sails). "

"We stay 2 weeks in the sunrise beach bungalows. It starts brilliant with the pickup at the airport from brian. He made a short island-trip with us and show us the important places to go and the nice beaches.
We stay in bungalow 4 and everything was nice clean, the sheets, towels etc.. The noise from the waves are amazing in this area. Good place for discover the island and the ocean.
You can see the bluefish in the waves from the bungalow.
The pool was nice and clean, good for swim after the saltwater. Amazing sunrise every morning in this area.
Caryn and Brian are very friendly. They helped us every time and we were there for 2 weeks no problem. "

"Four of us stayed in the Beach House for 2 weeks, everything there suited us, like one of the other reviews, don't expect 5 star accomodation but we found the entire place was clean & regularly serviced, whatever we asked for it was provided. They definitely are no-fuss people & nothing is a bother. One morning there was no water, the fault was some burst pipe at the road, certainly not Sunrise's cause, but Brian came to my rescue with a jug of water to rinse off my hair!! They go that extra distance for you, they are likeable and they made us feel welcome, we had a lot of laughs.
I jokingly called it Faulty Towers because everything that went wrong Caryn & Brian earnestly fixed, replaced or did their utter best to compensate.
I loved the sound of the waves breaking so close to Sunrise, especially at night, every night I fell asleep without my usual insomnia problem.
I would definitely go back again, maybe next year, loved the swimming pool swam in it every day. "

"My wife and I stayed for a week in August, 2010 at Sunrise..Bungalow was right on the beach..we could hear the surf all the time. It was wonderful. Our Bungalow was clean and nice..Brian picked us up at the airport on time, very, very early in the morning. They did not charge us for the night before even though they had to have room empty for us. Yes, they both are "earthy"..that is real people, not androids in luxury resorts. This is our type of place. We would stay with them again... "
